A small stall can be a comfortable and introspective space. We go to the bathroom when we are uncomfortable. In the Philippines they call the bathroom a "CR,” a comfort room. We also know which bathroom is our favorite... the one back home.
Do we ever think about why we feel awkward talking to the person in the next stall, or why no one questions a person going to the bathroom? Where do you look when you are in a stall?
Intimacy is defined as closeness. Could the experience with the closeness of a bathroom stall be close to our own experience? Can intimacy be felt through just space?
