The idea of "false lights" comes from a description of Key West in Florida's early history. The early residents of the island were known to lead sailors and their ships into the reefs surrounding the island by using false safety lights. After the ships wrecked in the shallow reefs, they would raid the ships for money and goods. This screen print tells a small story of those things in our life that promise safety but ultimately lead to our destruction.
